LinkBench Privacy Policy
Effective date: 30 August 2026 Product: LinkBench (Chrome extension) Operator: XiangjunJia (individual developer) Address: Nanshan District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China Contact: 348767022jxj@gmail.com
By using LinkBench, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. This Policy governs how personal information relating to LinkBench is handled.
---
1. Product and principles
LinkBench helps you discover, save, and manage links from open tabs, bookmarks, and browsing history.
Local-first: Open tabs, bookmarks, browsing history, and source indexes are processed only on your device and are not uploaded to LinkBench servers.
---
2. Information we process
| Category | What | Where stored |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Google account identifiers, email or display name, and avatar obtained via sign-in; used for sessions and membership | Local extension session and our servers |
| Browser sources | Tabs, bookmarks, browsing history, local indexes, and scan results | Device only |
| Collections | Saved links, display names, notes, sort order, and groups | Device only for guests; automatically cloud-synced on every signed-in plan |
| Collaboration spaces | Groups and links deliberately placed in a space; member display names, avatars, and roles; Owner invite codes | Our servers and authorized members. Invite codes are available only to the Owner while online and are not included in normal snapshots or offline caches |
| Membership & payments | Plan, quotas, billing period, and payment status | Our servers; payments processed by Creem |
| Preferences | Theme, language, privacy-mask settings, and similar UI preferences | Device only (language is not cloud-synced) |
Notes:
- Sign-in uses Chrome Identity / Google OAuth. We clear the extension session on sign-out or session invalidation and do not treat Google access tokens as a long-lived entitlement switch.
- The extension requires Chrome permissions such as
tabs,bookmarks,history,storage, andidentity. - Card data and other sensitive payment details are handled by Creem. The extension does not store payment secrets. Entitlements are determined by our servers and Creem-confirmed events.
- Exported collection files are under your control.
---
3. How we use information
We use information only to:
- provide sign-in, workspace, and collection features;
- manage membership, quotas, and personal cloud sync for signed-in accounts;
- establish collaboration memberships, provide shared content according to roles, and support space safety management;
- maintain security, troubleshoot issues, and prevent abuse; and
- respond when you contact us for support.
We do not:
- upload browsing history or full bookmark indexes for cloud content analysis;
- perform AI auto-classification or cloud content analysis; or
- sell your personal data.
---
4. Retention
- Local browser sources and guest collections: Managed by you and your browser environment. Signing in or out does not delete guest collections stored on the device.
- Personal sync for signed-in accounts: Every valid signed-in plan, including Basic, can sync collections and groups; guest data is not uploaded. Personal sync continues after a downgrade or paid entitlement ends. If existing data exceeds the current quota, only new additions are paused; existing local and cloud data remain. Legacy 90-day retention fields are used only to migrate pre-release states and are no longer started by plan changes.
- Collaboration spaces: Shared content and memberships are stored on our servers and provided to currently authorized members. Archiving makes a space read-only without deleting it. An Editor or Viewer who leaves or is removed loses access but does not delete the space. Permanent deletion by the Owner removes the space and its child data and cannot be undone, subject to server backups and any legally required retention.
- Account, entitlement, and payment records: Retained as needed to provide the service and comply with applicable law.
- Uninstall: Local cleanup follows Chrome and system behavior.
---
5. Third parties
Where necessary to provide the service, we may interact with:
- Google — authentication and sign-in; and
- Creem — billing for subscriptions and one-time purchases, invoices, and the customer portal.
We do not sell or freely disclose personal data to unrelated third parties, except as required for the above, by law, or to protect the service and users.
---
6. Your choices
- Sign out at any time (local collections are kept by default).
- Delete collections, bookmarks, or browsing history through product features (deleting bookmarks or history affects data in the current browser; removing a collection item only affects LinkBench).
- Manage or leave a collaboration space according to your role. Owners may remove members, archive, or permanently delete; Editors and Viewers may leave. Leaving does not copy shared content into personal collections.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions via the Creem Customer Portal.

7. Children; changes
LinkBench is intended for general individual users and is not directed to children. If you believe we have collected a child’s information in error, contact us.
We may update this Policy and revise the effective date. For material changes, we will try to provide reasonable notice. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
